The Masters’ Program in Molecular & Human Genetics covers a period of 2 years with admissions at the beginning of July. Students who have completed their Bachelor’s degree with a background in biological sciences or medicine can apply for this course.
The course comprises 4 semesters of 6 months duration each. The first 3 semesters shall include 4 theory papers and 2 practical courses. Starting from 2nd semester and through 3rd and 4th semesters, the students shall carry out a short project work (dream project designed by the students themselves) in the subject related to the course under the supervision of the faculty involved and submit the dissertation report along with a presentation for evaluation. In the 4th semester, there are 2 theory papers and 1 practical paper. The students will participate in weekly seminars and journal clubs, to meet the needs in their aim to become an interdisciplinary researcher.
In addition, the students are required to undergo a 1 month summer training, to obtain professional exposure in well reputed Research Institutes/Universities or Industries and submit the final report along with a presentation for evaluation in the 4th semester.
